As an academic myself, I understand the challenges of doing research on a limited budget. Therefore, it is important to offer different pricing options that are compatible with the reality of project and institutional funding.

Additionally, I offer special pricing for early-stage researchers at Austrian universities who rely on Faculty/Institute funding ("Lektoratsförderung," listed below the regular pricing options).

Special Offer for Early-Stage Researchers

If you are an early-stage researcher at an Austrian university, you may be eligible for funding called "Lektoratsförderung."

The following offer is based on the funding guidelines and limits at several Austrian universities, which ensures that you can access my full, professional services for at least one manuscript per year.

Package Offer: 400€ (includes "revise and resubmit")

- The offer includes the same services as the regular premium service described above: standard copy editing for a first submission, as well as additional copy editing in case of "revise and resubmit."

- Manuscripts should not exceed 10,000 words.

If your manuscript exceeds 10,000 words, please contact me and provide an estimated word count. I will be happy to discuss different options with you!

Eligibility

This special offer is available to anyone eligible for Lektoratsförderung through their institution, but is aimed at early-stage researchers who do not have access to any other funding.

If you are based at a university in another EU country, you may also be eligible for this special offer: Please check with your Faculty/Institution.

Rationale

Publishing is an essential part of your academic career; however, journals increasingly require non-native English-speaking authors to have their manuscripts professionally edited or "proofread" by a native speaker before submission. While Austrian universities provide funding for these costs to early-stage researchers, they often do not cover the full amount charged by an experienced professional editor with subject expertise.

My package offer ensures that both your initial submission and post-review revision will be of excellent quality.

Copy Editing and Proofreading Workflow

Regardless of which service you choose, all manuscripts go through a three-step process. This approach ensures publication-ready, academic English that conforms to the publisher’s style and language requirements:

Initial copy editing: The editor thoroughly edits your manuscript for language, clarity and syntax. Comments and questions address more complicated issues that require the author’s further attention.
Author review: The author reviews all changes and makes additional changes, as required. The author may also respond to comments or leave their own questions for the editor.
Final proofreading: The editor carefully goes through the manuscript to check for any new or outstanding errors. They also apply the style guide to the entire manuscript (e.g., punctuation, spelling, verb tenses).
